How far would you go to film the ‘perfect’ advert?

To launch Sharp’s Touch Wood SH-08C smartphone, ad agency Drill Inc built a massive xylophone out of wood running down a hill in a Japanese forest.

Was it worth it? Check out the advert….

Advertising at its Worst?

How does a small mattress company in California rack up over 3 million views of their advert on YouTube? Gary’s Mattress has struck YouTube gold for all the wrong reasons with possibly the most un-P.C advert in history. What to mock first…his poor reading of cue cards, the bad copy or the racist, costume-clad moments?

If you haven’t seen this then it’s definitely worth a watch:

Festive Cheer is Measured in Cups

I’m sure the feminists out there will have a field day with this Christmas advert from La Senza. Seven ladies a-lying on beds in their undies is far from festive but have them ooh and ahh, gyrating along to a Christmas carol and then Yuletide cheer no doubt abounds!

Watch the video here…stick it out past the 47 second mark for a laugh…

Skittles New Advert is Electrifying

This is a strange ad…Skittles -- a more pleasant way to get your oral thrills. That is as compared to getting a static shock to the tongue from a giant sock-man.

Pregnant Nun Poised for Pope’s Visit

Pregnant nun ice-cream advertA couple of weeks ago I wrote about a controversial ad campaign which had been creating waves in the UK.

A pregnant nun, kissing priests and a priest and a nun caught in a compromising position – these are the visuals for ice cream brand Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano adverts which run alongside the strapline’s “Immaculately conceived” and “Ice cream is our religion.

Despite a ruling by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) which stated the ads must be discontinued as they “made a mockery” of Roman Catholic beliefs, Federici are planning to reveal another advert which will be “a continuation of the theme“.

A spokesperson for the company brazenly stated:  “We intend to defy the ASA’s ban and will publish another advert from the series before the Pope’s visit later this week.” She went on to say that Federici are “in the process of securing a series of billboards close to and along the planned route of the Pope’s cavalcade around Westminster Cathedral“.

Watch this space to see what Federici come up with to raise papal eyebrows!
