			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As part of their &#8216;<em>Brighter Morning with Tropicana</em>&#8216; campaign, the juice brand came up with a clever stunt which took place Monday in London&#8217;s Trafalgar Square.</p>
<p>To the surprise of Londoners making their way about on a typically grey Winter&#8217;s morning in the city, a huge sun which took six months to construct and was 30,000 times bigger than a football rose up to brighten up the square. Apparently the artificial &#8216;sun&#8217; could be seen from space as the light was the equivalent of 60,000 light bulbs!</p>
<p>The brand is also running complimentary <a href="http://www.facebook.com/TropicanaJuices?sk=app_244641188934784">Facebook</a> activity with competitions and the opportunity to join Tropicana&#8217;s &#8216;Breakfast Club&#8217;.</p>

<p>Struggling to wrap your brain around that? Well YouTube have launched this really nice site, <a href="http://www.onehourpersecond.com/">onehourpersecond.com</a>, which is full of interesting stats and figures which serve to put the volume of video and length of time spent on the site in context.</p>
<p>For example, who knew that <em>&#8216;In 4 minutes 48 seconds of uploads to YouTube, the ostrich continues running at full speed, traveling 12,384 miles&#8217;?</em></p>
<p>Definitely worth checking out over your morning coffee.</p>
<p>Of course, YouTube being YouTube, they&#8217;ve posted a video along the same lines.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">QR codes are a bit of a bugbear of mine. When they&#8217;re printed too small to scan, displayed too high or in areas without WiFi, linking to websites/pages that aren&#8217;t mobile optimised&#8230;the list goes on.</p>
<p>That said I spotted this in my local shop today.The ATM was out of service but a QR code allowed you to visit a branch and ATM locator.</p>

<p>Handy &#8211; particular if you&#8217;re in an area you&#8217;re not familiar with.</p>
<p>Of course the QR code brought you to a site that wasn&#8217;t a mobile optimised but sure you can&#8217;t have everything (not at the moment anyway!).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dylan Owens of video production company, Creative Prophet, has launched a new initiative this Christmas &#8211; the pop-up video studio.</p>
<p>Taking a <em>Groupon</em> approach to production, the company will have a pop-up green screen studio available for hire with prices starting at under €1000. The idea being that alot of companies avail of 2/3 hour time slots.</p>
<p>One to look at if you&#8217;ve got some video production on your radar at the moment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The New York Times have taken the fairytale concept of turning to <em>&#8216;Mirror, Mirror on the wall&#8217;</em> for insight and given it a 21st century makeover.</p>
<p>In an effort to show how facial recognition, voice commands and gesture recognition (using Micosoft Kinect) can combine to change how people consume content and go about their daily routine, the New York Times R&#038;D Lab created the &#8216;augmented reflection&#8217; and it&#8217;s pretty impressive.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll take one please. Wrapped. For Christmas.</p>
